Global Giving – Fundraising

1st May 2014 - By Dan Graham

As we develop and grow Nile Swimmers as a leading water safety & drowning prevention organisation; it has become clear to us – that although we are good at stopping drowning, we are not so good at fundraising.

With that in mind, we signed up for the Global Giving UK – Gateway Challenge.  We have learnt a lot during the tuition process – and today, we have to put it into action.

Our concept is simple – work with local partners, to identify young leaders, train them to become water safety instructors, and support them to pass on that training in their local communities.  It is so simple, and so cost effective.  We have big plans in the next few years to really take this to a massive level.  But to get the big funders, we need the little funders.  We need people like you, who can spare us a tenner… who can support this 2015 project – so that we can prove that the work we do is effective.

In order to get a permanent spot on the Global Giving website (which is great for us – because it means we can receive tax efficient donations from around the world without extra admin) we have to prove what we have learnt – by raising £2000 from 50 donors in less than a month.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for supporting.
