Who we are

Nile Swimmers started in 2007, with an idea from the British Council, and a shared vision from Tilal Salih, Dan Graham and Tom Mecrow. Since then, the organisation has grown slowly, carefully establishing ourselves as a credible and globally respected drowning prevention organisation.  We now have technical agreements with various Ministries of the Sudan Government, and have delivered technical projects on behalf of UNICEF.

Nile Swimmers is a registered UK charity (number 1152395) administered by a trustee board in the UK.

UK Trustee Board

Nile Swimmers is a registered Sudanese NGO (number 695) administered by two paid staff, supporting thousands of volunteer instructors.
